PHIRE Joins the UBRP Family
We are extremely happy and grateful that our training program (PHIRE; “fire”) is now a part of UBRP. The infrastructure and support that UBRP offers for undergraduate research are unparalleled, shepherding hundreds of students and mentors every year through a process of building professional relationships and identities centered around biosciences. The PHIRE scholars greatly value being a part of this community and the numerous resources it offers to support their research and personal development – science seminars, professional development workshops, social activities, and most importantly, tangible support when needed. UBRP places a strong emphasis on developing research communication skills, which is one of the many reasons PHIRE was drawn to UBRP. You can see how PHIRE scholars are communicating their research using one of UBRP’s Telling Your Story activities (see student links below). UBRP, in short, exemplifies how to effectively implement, scale, and sustain undergraduate research programs.
