My Experience at the 2025 Academic Surgical Congress

From February 11th to 13th, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Academic Surgical Congress (ASC) 2025, where I presented a Quickshot Presentation. The ASC brings leading surgeons in research, residents, and students together to discuss advancements in surgical science and patient care.
My presentation, “CNP-miR146a Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing by Promoting a Pro-Regenerative Immune Response,” focused on a novel therapeutic approach to treating impaired wound healing in diabetic patients. I was very excited to present at the ASC conference as it was the first time I had the opportunity to share the results of my research with experts from the field. It was an amazing experience, as I was able to connect and learn from some of the leading authorities in the field. The Quickshot format challenged me to present complex findings quickly and effectively, while receiving feedback and questions from an audience of experts helped me improve my communication skills.
Beyond my presentation, I attended numerous talks and presentations regarding research in various disciplines of surgery. The conference definitely reinforced my passion for science and discovery, especially with its impact on improving patient care and outcomes in the world of medicine. Connecting with other researchers, whether they were undergraduate students, medical students, residents, mentors, or clinicians, broadened my understanding of different research areas.
Overall, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to share our research at the Academic Surgical Congress, and I look forward to continuing to be part of the research community.
