The availability of the EHS-TRUE program for Summer 2020 is contingent upon funding renewal; we will receive notice by March 2020 regarding funding status. EHS-TRUE applicants interested in a Summer 2020 research experience should additionally apply to UBRP, in case funding is not renewed.
Applications for the EHS-TRUE program are done online through the UBRP website. Begin by creating a UBRP account by clicking on the “Log Into UBRP Online” link at the top right corner. Once logged in, you will see a link to the EHS-TRUE application. You will be asked to write a personal statement as a part of the application. Please be sure to include the reasons you want to participate in the EHS-TRUE Program. A good resource for general information regarding environmental health science is the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (www.niehs.nih.gov)
Applications are due February 1 at 5:00 pm. Applicants will be screened and finalists will be interviewed the first two weeks of February. Those selected for the program will be notified by the end of February and will have the month of March to interview with prospective mentors. Mentor/mentee pairings will be finalized by April 1 and the mentor will complete a commitment form indicating who the student’s immediate supervisor and time approver are. Applicants selected to participate must attend a payroll meeting (during the spring semester), UBRP summer orientation (May 18, 2020), and the UBRP Ethics Retreat (May 19 & 20, 2020).
All applications must be done online through the UBRP application portal.
