You will be asked to write a personal statement as a part of the application. Please be sure to include the reasons you want to participate in the EHS-TRUE Program. A good resource for general information regarding environmental health science is the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (www.niehs.nih.gov)
To apply to EHS-TRUE, download and complete a Summer 2021 EHS-TRUE Application Form, save it as YourLastName, YourFirstName_EHSTRUE.pdf and e-mail it directly to Jennifer Cubeta, UBRP Director, at email@example.com by 5:00pm (Arizona time) on February 1, 2021. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
A letter of recommendation is not required, unless you have prior independent research experience, in which case a letter of recommendation from a member of the research group (preferably the primary scientist) is required. Please direct your recommender(s) to e-mail letters to Jennifer Cubeta at firstname.lastname@example.org. Letters must be received by 5:00pm on February 1, 2021 to be considered.
EHS-TRUE applicants will be screened and finalists will be interviewed the first two weeks of February. Those selected for the program will be notified by March 1 and will have the month of March to interview with prospective mentors. Mentor/mentee pairings will be finalized by April 1 and the mentor will complete a commitment form indicating who the student’s immediate supervisor and time approver are. Applicants selected to participate must attend a payroll meeting (during the spring semester), UBRP summer orientation (May 17, 2021), and the UBRP Ethics Retreat (May 18 & 19, 2021).
If you have questions, please contact Jennifer Cubeta, UBRP Director, at email@example.com.
