Overview

The University of Arizona invites applications from non-UA students for a summer research experience in the molecular biosciences.  Photo of a student working in a lab The Research Experience for Undergraduates is an educational program sponsored by the National Science Foundation.  This program is designed to teach students science by involving them as part of a research team in biologically related research. Students are paid for their time in the lab where they develop an understanding of scientific method and receive a realistic view of biological research. They also acquire the tools necessary to be successful in post-graduate studies in biology should they choose careers related to biology or biomedical research. This program demonstrates how the resources of a major research university can be brought to bear on undergraduate education. Research labs from a wide variety of disciplines participate in this program.
