"At the UA COM Phoenix, I, Melissa Panogos '08, get to choose a Scholarly Research Project to conduct over the next 4 years.  I am currently looking into using my UBRP/Beckman background lab experience by doing some stroke or neuro research." This summer I will spend 6 weeks at a rural site shadowing a Med-peds doctor to learn more about pediatric internal medicine.  I was accepted into the UA COM's Rural Health Practioners Program (RHPP), which allows a summer experience followed by clinical rotation electives.  Melissa was a Beckman Scholar in Dr. Robert Gillies' lab, Biochemistry and Molecular Biohysics and a UBRPer with Dr. Lee Ryan, Cognition & Neuroimaging Labs.
