One way to learn more about your fellow UBRPers is to
see how they drive go-carts and what their strategy is
in laser tag. A small group of UBRPers spent Saturday
afternoon, February 21 in this pursuit. It was
a gorgeous day and some of us arrived in a UA pick up
truck with an extended cab. We could have gathered
sheep in the back, which is the use the truck may have
had in the hands of earlier users, but instead we traveled
to Wetmore Road to the site of Fantastics. Once
there we piled into go carts (hint: the fast ones
are number 14 and number 8-stay away from number 13 unless
you want to make leisurely circuits of the course), tested
our seaworthiness in floating rubber tubes outfitted
with gigantic squirt guns, and had a spirited game of
laser tag. For some of us, this was our first experience
with laser tag. We divided into three teams...the red,
the blue and the yellow. The blue team consisted
of three very little children. The yellow team,
headed by Mounir Koussa (who it turns out employed a
very successful strategy of standing concealed on the
third story of the laser tag facility and picked off
everyone on the two floors below him) handily scored
the most points. We then refueled with pizza over
a spirited discussion of the best and worst movies we
have every seen, and headed home.
