Opportunities and Choices
The Orthopaedic Research Lab (ORL) is
expecting to receive minority student research support
grants from WAESO (a regional grant unit of the National
Science Foundation). As
in the past, funding is only available for NSF designated
minorities. This includes: African Americans, Native
Americans, Hispanics and Pacific Islanders. Specifically
excluded are Asians and European whites. If you
are intereseted in doing research in the ORL and are
qualified to receive support from these grants please
contact Dr. John A. Szivek at szivek@u.arizona.edu.
2009 NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates,
University of Florida: Join us for a unique experience and
summer of discovery in microbiology and cell science
from May 24 to July 31, 2009. Scientific workshops
on bioinformatics and genomics, oral and written communication,
scientific ethics, applying for graduate school, GRE
test preparation, field trips and $4500 summer stipend
plus housing and travel allowance. For applications
