HHMI-Janelia Undergraduate Scholars Program: is an exciting
opportunity for the very best future scientists, engineers
and mathematicians to spend ten weeks in a laboratory
doing research in areas such as neurobiology, physics,
computer science, math and engineering. Any current
undergraduate is eligible, stipend is $4,500, on-site

Campus is a state-of-the-art biomedical research complex
near Washington DC. The scientific foci are: (1)
the identification of general principles that govern
how information is processed by neuronal circuits; (2)
the development of imaging technologies and computational
methods for image analysis.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will support over
165 U.S. graduate students (U.S. citizen or permanent
resident) for research & cultural experiences in
Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore
or Taiwan during a two-month summer program in 2009. The
primary goals of the programs are to introduce students
to Australian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, New Zealand,
Singaporean and Taiwan science and engineering in the
context of a research laboratory, and to initiate personal
relationships that will better enable them to collaborate
with foreign counterparts in the future. Predeparture
orientation expenses, international airfare, living expenses
in the host location, and a summer stipend of $5,000
will be provided. The application deadline is December
