a Community Health Volunteer in the Peace Corps," writes
Amanda Wendt '04. "I am almost done with
my service and will be returning to the states in December
2008. I am starting the application process to

We were saddened by the news that long-time UBRP
mentor Dr. Darrel Goll, Professor of Nutrition and
Food Sciences, died suddenly in July of a massive heart attack. Over
a long and productive career, Dr. Goll did pioneering
work on protein biochemistry, characterizing the calpain
system and examining its impact on muscle, heart disease,
Alzheimer's Disease, muscular dystrophy, and other
disorders. We are grateful to Dr. Goll for his
many contributions and we extend our deepest sympathy
to his family.
