'Tis the Season for Giving:
Building a UBRP Endowment

The tax year is coming to an end and as it does, some people look around for good causes to which they can contribute. I encourage you to consider making a donation to UBRP to help us build up our endowment. So....why contribute? Here are some reasons:

1. One third of the world's economy is based on the biotech industry (includes pharmaceutical companies, agriculture, biologically and biomedically related research and more). This means that there will be growth in biotech jobs.

2. UBRP prepares students to enter the biotech industry in a myriad of ways.

3. An endowment is needed to ensure that UBRP is a permanent part of what is offered at UA.

4. If you own a house you will do an itemized tax return, and you will need deductions.

5. It feels good to give back to your university and to know that you have contributed to the education of an undergraduate.

6. Contributing to UBRP is healthier than a "daily hazelnut half-caf latte, extra foam."

7. Contributing to UBRP is an excellent way to pay tribute to some of the faculty who may have influenced your education and your career.

8. The student your contribution supports may ultimately contribute to a discovery that will be of importance to humankind.

9. A contribution will pay dividends in educating students and education is the key to making the world a better place.

10. It will be good for your self-esteem because you can count yourself as contributing to a cause that will make a difference, and indeed, already has!

So please join us in contributing to UBRP - any amount is welcome. To make a fully tax deductible donation, please make your check payable to "The University of Arizona Foundation" and write "UBRP FUND" in the memo section of the check. Send it to the UBRP Office, Life Sciences South, room 348, The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721-0106. We will take it from there!
