In this lecture, Dr. Lawrence will review his scientific career in general terms, talking about mentors such as VB Wigglesworth, Sydney Brenner, Francis Crick and Max Perutz and what they taught him about being a scientist. Dr. Lawrence will also discuss why we do science and will describe the sickness he feels has infected modern science practice.
