Fulbright Scholar: Fulbright grants are made to U.S.
citizens and nationals of other countries for a variety
of educational activities, primarily university lecturing,
advanced research, graduate study and teaching in elementary
and secondary schools. Fulbright Fellows are chosen on
the basis of academic or professional record, language
proficiency, and feasibility of proposed study project,
personal qualifications, and requirements of programs
in individual countries.

in science and engineering. It is based on a nationally

Beckman Scholar:
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation makes grants to program-related, non-profit
research institutions to promote research in chemistry and the life sciences,
broadly interpreted, and particularly to foster the invention of methods, instruments,
and materials that will open up new avenues of research in science.

Galileo Circle Scholar: The Galileo Scholars Program provides scholarships to
a learning community of students who are who are pursuing majors in science,
math, engineering or technology fields. It is made possible by the generous donations
of members of the Galileo Circle, a society of individuals who support excellence
in the sciences at the UA.

Robie Medal: These medals and cash awards were given by the late Wendell T. Robie
of the class of 1917 and Inez Benzie Robie of the class of 1916 of The University
of Arizona. Qualifications for this award include personal integrity, initiative,
cooperativeness, enthusiasm, humility, well-rounded interests, active participation
in student affairs, service to the University, willingness to give more than
required, love of God and country.

Freeman Medal: In his will Dr. Merrill Freeman provided for two medals to be
awarded annually to students selected by the administration of The University
of Arizona. He served The University of Arizona as a regent and as a chancellor
and received an honorary doctorate in law from the University. The Freeman Medal,
the University's most long-standing recognition of all-around accomplishment,
is awarded annually to "well-rounded individuals whose contributions through
co-curricular and community activities and leadership are evident," in addition
to their record of academic achievement.
