Pick-Wei Lau '06 is heading to the "Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, California to begin a doctoral program." While in UBRP, Pick-Wei worked in Dr. Victor Hruby and Dr. Michael Brown's lab, Chemistry. E-mail: laupw@yahoo.com

Mark Fernandez '03 just finished his third year of medical school. Mark was "doing research on cell signaling involved in trabecular meshwork relaxation, which is important for lowering intraocular pressure in glaucoma." He presented "the work at ARVO, which is the big ophthalmology meeting in Florida every year." As a UBRPer, Mark worked in Dr. John Szivek's Surgery/Orthopedic Research Lab. E-mail: mmf2@duke.edu

" There is never a dull moment in my day," writes Decemna Chow Tang '98. "I am a speech-language pathologist for a rehabilitation corporation in San Diego. My caseload consists of children with developmental delays, and articulation and phonological impairments. I also see adults with neurologically-based cognitive-linguistic deficits. Evaluation and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders are included in my work with adults." Decemna was a UBRPer in Dr. Elena Plante's lab, Speech, Language and Hearing.
