Opportunities and Choices

The UBRP office has received information and application materials for a variety of research experience programs, grants, scholarships, conferences, jobs, and graduate programs. What follows is a sampling:

Public Health Curriculum Developer, Dine College, Shiprock, New Mexico. This position is funded through a grant from CDC to Dine College. Complete application information is available on the Dine College website at: www.dinecollege.edu. Click on “Information” at the lower left of the page, which will bring up a list of 6 items. Click on the 4th item, “Human Resources,” and that will bring up the “Human Resources” page. Click on “Job Vacancies,” and that will bring up a current listing of job vacancies at Dine College. The “Public Health Curriculum Developer” position is listed here under Shiprock. University of Wisconsin Endocrinology-Reproductive Physiology (ERP) Graduate Program, Madison, Wisconsin is specifically for people interested in the physiology of pregnancy, the fetus, delivery, lactation and early neonatal development. The program has 31 faculty members, is interdepartmental (13 departments) and crosses colleges (UW Medical School, School of Veterinary Medicine, and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences). For students of reproductive physiology, the program allows interdisciplinary study capitalizing on a diverse faculty with diverse approaches. The program accepts both M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students. The program is one of only a handful of programs in the U.S. with this the endocrinology and reproductive physiology focus and is funded by an NICHD/NIH T32 Institutional Training Grant. Although graduate students take a core set of courses in biochemistry, statistics, and endocrine physiology, the remainder of the coursework is flexible and customized to meet each student's research and career goals.
