“I am working at the Dialysis Center Inc., as research assistant for Dr. Philip Zager in Nephrology,” reports Ophelia Spencer ‘95. "He is PI for the study that we are doing at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center. I really love what I do: recruit, library search, and leukocyte isolation for genetic studies, and so much more. I just want to thank you, your staff, and all the PIs that encourage Native Students to get involved with research." Ophelia was a UBRPer in Dr. David Harris’s lab, Microbiology and Immunology
and Dr. Hugh Laird’s lab, Pharmacology and Toxicology.

“ How fast time marches by! I am now at Brown University, Department of Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology and Biotechnology, where I am starting up my own laboratory. It is a lot of work, but very rewarding and so far (2 months in) its simply been a lot of fun,
