Everyone has at least a single moment in their lives
that they wish they could banish from their memory.
Imagine if it was possible to permanently displace
these from the mind forever with the aid of ever-advancing
science. That is the premise of “Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” the most recent choice
for this past Friday’s movie screening and discussion
event hosted by UBRP member, Kent Kemmish,
Dr. Brower’s
lab, Molecular & Cellular Biology.
Students and faculty gathered for the free viewing, and
afterwards debated the possibility of the ideas presented
during the thought-provoking drama-comedy. Chief among
those who participated in the discussion was honored
neurobiologist Dr. Renato Corradetti of the University
of Florence (Italy). Dr. Corradetti provided attendees
with his extensive knowledge and insight into the inner
workings of memory and the mind.
