Alumni Network Is Up and Running!


As you know, over the past few months we have worked towards establishing a UBRP Alumni Network. The network is now electronic and functional (but we expect to add more features as we go along). My wife, Vivian, and I “have opened up our own English school (250 students) in Picacicaba, Brazil,” reports Marcelo Schneider ‘95. Marcelo was a UBRPer in Dr. Jose Riberio’s’s lab, Entomology and Dr. Daniel Papaj’s lab, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. “I finished my MS in entomology. My research was on the brood care behavior of leaf-cutting ants. Email: supercelo@yahoo.com

Parmi Suchdev ‘97 received his MD/MPH from Northwestern. Parmi was a UBRPer in Dr. Danny Brower’s lab, Molecular and Cellular Biology and Dr. Ralph Fregosi’s lab, Physiology. He is now a pediatric resident at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Email: psuchdev@yahoo.com

“I have decided to attend Quillen (East Tennessee State University) Medical School, Johnson City, Tennessee”, reports Cristian Madar ‘04. Cristian was a UBRPer in Dr. Henry Yamamura’s lab, Pharmacology.
