Alumni News

Alumni Network Is Up and Running!

As you know, over the past few months we have worked towards establishing a UBRP Alumni Network. The network is now electronic and functional (but we expect to add more features as we go along). If you would like to be added to the network, and see who is already registered, please go to the following URL: http://ubrp.arizona.edu/alumni/registration.cfm and complete the electronic form. That is all there is to it!

Zeb Hogan ‘94, UBRP alum in Dr. William Matter’s lab, Wildlife & Fisheries Science writes that he is finishing his PhD at UC Davis. His work, which involves trying to develop sustainable fisheries while protecting local biodiversity in Southeast Asia, is described in an article in the current issue of the American Scientist (<http://www.americanscientist.org/template/AssetDetail/assetid/32587;jsessionid=baaaUgpPnxIfav>). It is an exciting article, describing important work. For those of you interested in knowing how to combine field work with molecular biology, local practices with governmental policies, as well as how to affect the future generation through writing children's books on important ecological issues, this article is instructive! Zeb has had support along the way from a Fulbright Fellowship and grants from a variety of environmental organizations. E-mail: zebhogan@hotmail.com
