Interested in spending most of the summer out
in the field? My research program focuses on the behavioral
and population ecology of mammals in the high-elevation
forests of southeastern Arizona's mountains with an
emphasis on conservation biology. Projects involve
work on the endangered Mt. Graham red squirrel and
its response to forest thinning and insect damages,
as well as the influence of an introduced species,
the Abert's squirrel, on an uncommon native, the Arizona
Gray Squirrel. Transportation to and from the field,
camping or cabin sites for periods up to 10 days, required
field equipment, great views, and stimulating questions
provided. If interested, contact Dr. John L. Koprowski
