Through the grapevine we hear that Lars Hansen ’95 is now a MD and is a pediatric resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Lars was a UBRPer in Dr. Nick Strausfeld’s lab, ARL-Neurobiology.

Steven Miller ’00 is in the middle of his third year at UCSD doing research on the “Implementation of a Differentiation Program in a Cell Lineage”. Steven was a UBRPer in Dr. Danny Brower’s lab, Molecular and Cellular Biology.

Interested in a UBRP Alumni Network?

Steven Pfeiffer ’98, a UBRP alum from Dr. Eugene Mash’s Chemistry lab, and who is finishing a post-doc at Scripps, suggested we start a UBRP alumni network. We are happy to do this if UBRP alumni are interested. The network could include former UBRP participants’ names, company/organization they work for, city, and e-mail address. Depending on the response we could publish the list in the Gazette every several months or we could keep the list in our office and make it available upon request. Two things that would be key to making this work: 1) a critical mass of UBRP alums who want to be part of the network and 2) keeping the information current (we would rely on you to help us keep it up to date). As Steve points out, such a network has the potential to be very useful.
