Introducing...
...a new faculty sponsor, Dr. David Smith, Department of Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology at the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale. Dr. Smith investigates the
role of molecular chaperones in protein folding and regulation of signal
transduction pathways. His laboratory analyzes structure/function relationships
of chaperone proteins using molecular and X-ray crystallographic approaches and
he is developing mouse gene knockout models to address the physiological
functions of individual chaperone proteins.
Dr. Smith received his PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Texas at
Austin.
